…of microwaves and glass-lining…
And there goes a nice long weekend. Happy Easter everyone, may the significance last longer than the chocolate! Jan and I spent most of it getting up to the usual social antics. Jamie is one well-travelled young lad after visiting Noordhoek, Muizenberg, St James, Kommetjie and several other spots during the many trips. It’s not quite a picnic yet – taking him out and all – but it’s getting easier and he’s a little less niggly. A LITTLE.
Sidetrack: On a somewhat related but slightly less relevant note: My folks really need to join the space-age and get a microwave. Really. NEED to. To warm up quiches. If nothing else.
I also didn’t fly my heli. I didn’t get to finish the kitchen cornices. I didn’t finish the extractor vent, and I didn’t do anything in the garden. The creepy-crawly is still bust, so the pool is looking a little haggard, but it’s not too bad.
However, I did get to drive the Wild Dagger around. I decided I needed to lube the inside of the motors to stop some serious friction. It certainly got pretty wild when the Q20 I was blasting inside the spinning motors came out the other side on fire. I’m curious to know whether I’ve glass-lined the things, but the friction seemed to go. The dagger is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, with bits falling off and needing constant help. Although it still rockets around, so all is not lost. I also spent a fair amount of time fiddling with the new camera, and so far so good. The wait may have been worth it after all…
I also haven’t read anything lately (started DUNE a few weeks ago…), haven’t watched anything particularly interesting recently (other than 24…), and in general feel like things are moving p-r-e-t-t-y slowly. So, as blogs go – this has to rate as one of the more corpse-like out on the web, but at least it indicates one thing: We’re still alive, and we’re still kicking. It.

Hello Captain Awesome (I like your modesty). First time I’m been blogging… thanks for the intro. I could suggest quite a few books (much better than Dune) which you wouldn’t be able to put down. Try “Blink” or “Three” by Ted Dekker. I can even tell you where to get them.
Greetings to mini awesome and Janet.
PS Carn is an accronym for the names in our family….
